WHO WE ARE



The Daddy Awards South Africa (DASA) are dedicated to uplifting the father image, and presenting him in a positive manner to our society. Our aim is to address the socio-economic drivers that make it difficult for fathers to become present, active citizens in the lives of their children and family.
Every year, we honour fathers who have gone above and beyond for their families. We do this to show our admiration for the daily effort they make to improve our society and promote positive role models for future generations.

BACKGROUND



The Daddy Awards South Africa are the brainchild of marketer and entrepreneur, Neo Mothopeng, who upon becoming a father, witnessed the challenges parents face every day. He has been falling in love with the role of fatherhood and aspires to be like many great dads out there

that aren’t seen and recognised as role models in society. He’s seen the effects of the gap left behind by his father, as well as others who aren’t active in their children’s lives and aims to address this relationship deficit to present dads for the benefit of our homes.

About the competition

    THE COMPETION IS NOW CLOSED

  • This competition is about celebrating and encouraging dads and all father figures that help contribute to our kids, families and broader society.
  • The competition is open to all South African males over the age of 21 years old.
  • Nominations run from the 12 June 2023 to 31 August 2023. This means you have time to find your favourite dads and nominate them to ENTER!
  • Registration / Entry fee: R100 *non-refundable.
